Quick and Easy Stair Makeover

I hate my parents’ stairs to their basement. The house is only 3ish years old but these stairs have scuff marks everywhere, they were clearly constructed in a rush, and of course my parents opted for cheap leftover materials to cover the treads. No two stairs are exactly the same size. Plus, to hide the edges of said leftover materials, they opted for those terrible metal stair noses that are screwed down and catch socks all the time…she said with some personal experience.

DIY Hanging Office Drawer

I have more posts coming about how I redid our home office, but I just finished this last piece of the puzzle and thought I’d share it right away. Our custom office desk has a lot of open shelving and tabletop space, but there are always those office supplies you want tucked away – pens, staplers, random junk, etc. And for that, of course you want a drawer.

Stop Toys from Hiding Under the Couch!

Did I post yesterday? Yes. But today I walked into the living room to discover blocks everywhere and my 1-year-old kicking them under the couch.

Half of these would be missing in 10 minutes.

And I snapped. I MUST END THIS MADNESS! NO MORE HIDEOUT FOR YOU, LEGOS! So out to the garage I went to see what I could come up with.

And, folks, this might be the cheapest and easiest solution to any problem I’ve ever delayed fixing. 🤦‍♀️

Pantry DIY Project – Steps 1-4

Let me start by saying I am in no way an expert carpenter or interior designer. I’m just really good at monkey-see-monkey-do and Pinterest. So, if I can figure out how to renovate an old dining room into a glorious pantry, so can you. I firmly stand by this decision to dedicate an entire room to a pantry space, and really, how many of us still use a formal dining room with any regularity? As a pantry, this room is now obviously one of the most used rooms in our house on a daily basis. It’s also weirdly fancy with a chandelier that I assumed at first I’d have to replace but now looks quite cool over our pantry island.
