Old Headboard + Pallet = Kids’ Mini Couch

Do I keep almost everything that I think I might someday use to make something? Yes, yes, I do. I don’t have a storage unit full of old junk or anything, but I’m not gonna deny being glad my parents have a pole barn… 😜

Anyway, in my last post, I shared how we replaced my youngest’s toddler bed with a twin daybed, using both nice wood and an old pallet. Well… I had more than one extra pallet, plus I had an old headboard that I’d been eyeing for a while as a possibility for kids’ furniture.

Stop Toys from Hiding Under the Couch!

Did I post yesterday? Yes. But today I walked into the living room to discover blocks everywhere and my 1-year-old kicking them under the couch.

Half of these would be missing in 10 minutes.

And I snapped. I MUST END THIS MADNESS! NO MORE HIDEOUT FOR YOU, LEGOS! So out to the garage I went to see what I could come up with.

And, folks, this might be the cheapest and easiest solution to any problem I’ve ever delayed fixing. 🤦‍♀️

How to Make CHEAP Curtains Without Sewing

Ok. So this project was so simple and inexpensive that I can’t even really call it a full-on project. But I LOVE how well these curtains work in our living room, and this is certainly another “anyone can do it” kind of room update. Since I last posted on a living room project (see here), now is a good time to share this project with you, since it’s really the only other thing I’ve done to our living room…so far.

Living Room Fireplace Update

New house renovation project time!  I need to write a quick one this week because the girls are sick and my husband is not up to wiping all the noses himself. BUT, I love how much this simple project transformed our living room.  And it was so easy that I’m confident anyone can do it.  You only need a few supplies, a few tools, a few hours, and BAM – a whole new look to your living room!
